The Scout Fuller Fund for Social Justice

2009 Summer Service Award

The purpose of the 2009 Summer Service Award is to enable a Manchester College student, who otherwise could not afford to do so, to work as a summer intern or volunteer with a not-for-profit organization that works to improve the lives of others. Preference is given to applicants with financial need who demonstrate a strong commitment to peace and justice.

The service experience will take place during summer 2009; will consist of full-time work lasting four weeks or more; and will preferably be located within the United States. The award recipient chooses their own placement, in consultation with the Scout Fuller Fund officers and directors, who will help find a suitable organization and make arrangements. She/he will receive up to $2,000 to cover expenses related to the service experience (travel, lodging, food, etc.) and an additional cash award of up to $3,000 to help defray college-related expenses for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Applications are due March 15, 2009. Click here to download an application.
